Lowell, MA (August)

All excited about a trip!
Lowell used to be a major cotton mill (cotton factory) in the 19th century. The kiddos are exploring the children's section with an imitation loom and toys. Katherine mainly just munched and drooled on books
On a boat during canal tour of Lowell. The canals were dug to facilitate cotton production and delivery

Going through a set of locks to elevate the boat to a higher level in the canal

A flood control device
The view of the factory (cotton mills)

On a tram that took us to and from the boat tour

Check out the work hours cotton mill workers had to do - terrible!!!
Inside the mill, we had to put on ear plugs just to walk through an exhibit - that's how loud it was. Imagine working there every day
Can't get enough of national parks!
