Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site

This house was built in 1759 and was confiscated from loyalists during the revolutionary war; it housed George Washington and his staff in July 1775-April 1776 during the siege of Boston. It was also a home for Henry Longfellow, one of the most well-known American poets in the 19th century.
A national park site with the longest name!
Beautiful gardens behind the house

A highlight of the tour - Sam got to ring a historical door bell!
Best part: getting sworn in as a junior ranger and getting his junior ranger badge!
The house was a gathering place for poets and artists.  Now visitors are welcome to use sketchbooks to draw or write poetry in the garden
Yay! Sam earned his Junior Ranger badge!
